#1:Timex Ironman Classic 30 Full-Size 38mm Watch

Tried and true. Long lasting.
I use this watch every day to time my runs. I had an old one that lasted many years and finally started to go. I selected this one, not because it is necessarily the best watch out there, but because I knew exactly which buttons to push to time a run and so I wouldn't have to learn anything new. And so, guess what, the new
watch behaves exactly like the old one. Just what I wanted. Sadly, the new version was no longer available with my previous version's metal watch band that I could get on or off with just a flick of the clasp - no more than two seconds. This one has the classic tongue and holes just like a belt, with an extra sliding thingy that keeps the end of the excess strap from flapping around. The band is OK I guess, but it takes 8 to 10 seconds to get on or off, especially because I am taking special care to try not to crease the plastic band right where the metal loop contacts it as I draw it tight. Given how tough and long lasting the watch itself is, I expect it will far outlast the plastic band. But I put my old watch away in my drawer to when the new plastic band gives out, I can swap it with my old trusty metal band with a snap clasp.

 Excellent watch - good price
I got this watch specifically for the functions it has and the readable display. It is well-suited to my needs and fairly intuitive to use. By that I mean that you don't really need the directions after you first learn to use it. Once you know where the buttons are and what they do, you can puzzle your way through setting an alarm, for example, even if you haven't done it in a while. The functions I use most are the chronograph (stopwatch) and count-down timer. Both are simple to use.

Besides being useful, the watch has been reliable. After nearly a year of use, it has been problem free and looks pretty near new. The band is comfortable and the profile is such that it doesn't hang up on your sleeve or catch on things too easily. The display is a big improvement over my last watch of this sort. It is easy enough for my old eyes to read, even while running. Finally, the watch cost a third of what my previous watch cost. It is water resistant, but not matter proof. My last watch could be worn SCUBA diving, but not this one. With that exception, the watch has been a significant upgrade for a much lower price.

Reliable and dependable
Purchased this watch as a gift for my father. It's a low profile watch with functionality, durability, reliability and strength. I graduated basic training over a decade ago and had the same model all through training until 10+ years later. This is the perfect watch for anyone who works for a living and is unable to look at their cell phone every 10 mins to check the time. Great watch that stays on your wrist and works as promised.
