#1:Timex Men's Expedition Scout 40 Watch

Awesome watch I love, bummer about the time loss.
I bought this watch specifically for a camping trip because I wanted something classy that could still stand up to adventure. For a month, this watch held up against anything I threw at it: ATV'ing in the mountains, playing in sand at the beach, light swimming and frequent grilling / campfires. During my last trip, I noticed the time slowly began to lose minutes.
Returned the first watch, but the second one seems to be all right
I received this watch and right from the start, the box was crushed on the corner and the watch itself was not strapped in it's cradle with any zip ties
Right from the start, I had the impression this may be a used watch however I held on to it for about a week or so only to find out that it was losing approximately an hour every 2 days
I returned the watch and received a new one that was in the cradle and strapped in with the zip ties and everything seems to be so far, so good!
The returning of the watch was no problem and received the new one in a timely manner
Glass cover scratches easily
It's lightweight easy to read and looks good. Wrist band is a little small for larger arms. Only complaint is the glass cover scratches very easily. About every time I play with my dog it comes back with a new scratch. But for $50 was not expecting much.
Durable watch, keeps time... what more do you want?
I replaced my original Timex Men's Expedition Scout 40 Watch with an identical one. My first watch hung in there for two years and still looked remarkably good. .Alas! I am not easy on watches. My hobbies are woodworking, home repair and yard maintenance, and I do all my own mechanical work and no, I do not remove my watch. I tried to replace the battery but the watch had died (or I messed up).
If you are looking for a watch that is easy to read and tuff, this might be a good choice.
Updated review 9/3/2022 - replacement watch works fine
Update 03-Sept-2022: My original watch was a problem; see original review below. The replacement from Amazon arrived on 18-Aug-2022. It has been fine. Date sets fine, keeps time fine. Not sure why original watch was so problematic.
Original review 16-Aug-2022: I just received the watch 3 weeks ago. I set the time and date, but the standard 10-inch band was a bit too small, so I ordered a longer band. I did not wear the watch even once. Today I got the longer band. The watch time was off over 3 hours! And the day-of-month (1-31) setting would not move, neither when I put the crown in position B nor when I moved the time hands over 24 hours.
Takes a Licking and Keeps on Ticking
Delivery of my watch was delayed by several days. When the watch finally arrived and I opened the package I was shocked to see that inside the outer envelope was a VERY mangled product box, several pieces of broken plastic and the watch. I was surprised to discover that the watch itself was completely undamaged. It was running, as the plastic retainer had slipped out of place, but I couldn't find so much as a blemish on the crystal or a crease in the band. Have only had the watch now for a few hours, but all functions are working, band is comfortable. Exactly what I was expecting. As I would have thrown away the product packaging even if it was undamaged, I am happy with the purchase. It's a decent watch, second hand movements align with the face markings, and it is doing everything as expected. I don't know how much force is required to shred the box and break apart the plastic holder, but it wasn't enough to stop a watch that "takes a licking and keeps on ticking"! A great watch for the price in my opinion.
