One of the best watches $25 can buy
It’s hard to not like this watch. Great design & very affordable priced. I don’t like abusing my watches, but I trust this one comes with all the good quality associated with Casio, and will definitely last a long time. I have the crown pulled to save battery when I put it in storage.
Straightforward and Practical Timepiece
This watch, made in China to a Japanese design, is reminiscent of the first diver's watch I bought in 1976. No frills in appearance, no complex controls, just one knob to control its features, and even more astonishing, instructions that are clear and concise (on the same sheet of paper those instructions are repeated in an astonishing variety of languages but I guess that's what "made in China" is all about today.) It has a battery powered quartz movement, which is different from the mechanical "self winding" innards of the 1976 watch, but not better nor worse; it's much more accurate but the battery will need occasional replacement. It is analog, while watches I've owned since 1976 have been either wholly or partially digital. I believe, over 40 years of experience, that if you've learned to "tell time" on an analog dial, as all children had to in grade school in my time, analog is better. When you look at the analog face and see that it's 5 minutes to 8 you'll know at once that you'd better hurry, while with a digital you'll look at it and say, relax, it's only 7:55 and I don't have to be there till 8. It's human nature. If you want a stopwatch or to time things to the second, you'll need a digital, or a much more expensive analog with additional dials.
Great watch -- few minor cons.
I really like the watch, I needed something to wear that was a bit more rugged while I was out in nature. The watch band feels a bit flimsy however that's to be expected. After all, it is a "budget" g-shock, seeing how Casio also makes G-shock watches.
The auto light feature does not work on my model, if you want something cheap, that looks nice and will do the job this is the watch for you. If you're looking for really tough build quality, this is not for you, spend a little more.
If I lost this watch on a hike I wouldn't think twice and would re-buy it.
Good watch for the money
The phrase "you get what you pay for" applies here. For the price I don't think you'll find a better watch.
100 meter water resistance let's you do just about anything aside from diving without having to worry about it.
The dial is very easy to read provided there is enough like to see it. The lume on the hand and numbers might as well not exist. By my not so scientific testing, if you shine a bright like directly at it for a couple seconds, it will stay readable in total darkness for roughly 5 minutes. Once summer rolls around and it's exposed to sunlight for the better part of the day things may change but I'm not expecting much. It is a $25 watch after all.
Good for surfing - so far
The watch is holding up great. The plastic face on the outside is tiny bit scratched up a bit after about a month, but that’s from work. I’ve been surfing with it about 15-20 times now. I rise it with fresh water after every sesh. My only complaint is that the face doesn’t glow in the dark. Since there is no electric illumination, glowing face hands would be welcomed. 8 out of 10
Good Looking Watch
Bought this for my kid, taking the ACT exam. The dial is clear, high contrast, highly readable. The bezel is not like a real dive watch, it doesn't click into minutes, and it moves both directions, but whatever, this isn't a dive watch, and the bezel is firm and doesn't loose it's position casually on your wrist, or desk for the exam. :)
This looks good on my kid's wrist. It isn't too small, it isn't too big, which seems to be an ugly trend. It is sizable, but not ridiculous. If you have tree trunks for wrists... MAYBE this watch face would be too small for you, but, brother, I'd like to see those wrists, maybe you could bend hardened steel bars?
