I needed a watch with a good reputation but still affordable. This Timex fit the bill. It is technically a "man's watch", but I liked it better than any of the so-called women's watches. The size is great (35mm) and it is even better with the second hand, day and date.
It's a little difficult setting the day of the week however. The crown pulls out in two other positions and if turned counterclockwise, it's supposed to change the day of the week, but I have had trouble with that being consistent. Other than that, the original watchband is leather, but very stiff. It really bothered my wrist, so I purchased a softer elastic-type band (18mm) and now it's great. It also has a nice big, clear face.
I'm very pleased with this purchase. 5 stars!
Setting day of week
My old Timex indiglo watches used to allow setting everything using the crown ("winding" knob): Time, date and day. It was a bit of a pain to find the correct "click" position of the knob to change the day of the week but it was doable. Sadly Timex decided to remove this feature and now makes us wind through the hours of the day, over and over, to change the day, day by day. I guess they figured abandoning imperfect features rather than fixing them makes for a less costly and more salable watch. I think I would be willing to pay a few dollars more for an easier way to set the watch. So, I am looking for other watch brands for this.
What a watch should be
I’m so sick of this trend towards huge watches that can do a little of just about anything. It takes a rocket scientist to figure them out. All I want is a simple watch, that’s easy to read, tells the date & day. If you’re like me, then this is your watch. Simplicity at it’s best. Very easy to read, great nightlight and accurate. The expansion band fits nicely, not too tight, not too loose. Highly recommend and would buy again.
My Husband Loves it!
My Husband has had one that he wore for several years but finally gave out. Found the same watch cheaper on Amazon so I got it for him. He loves it and everything is working properly so far. I will update if anything changes.
Wish the band was smaller
I love the watch I can see it really well I can even see the date on it just great the band I wished wasnt a man's band but that's the only thing I could find for a watch big enough with the date and the light but and the band does pinch quite a bit it slides around I don't know how to fix it but it is a good watch
