Exceeded my expectations
have owned previously the samsung s7 edge and with it I had the samsung gear s2 smart watch. At the time I was pleased with both the phone and the watch, but not blown away by the watch. I then had switched to apple for a few years and owned the 7+ and the iPhone X along with the nike Apple Watch series 2. I enjoyed the X but I feel that it didn't truly live up to the hype, however I did grow extremely accustomed to my Apple Watch. I decided to jump ship after reading great reviews about the S9+ and man were they right. Absolutely adore the phone, but then came the problem of needing a new watch. I decided to wait it out a few months knowing that Samsung was going to be releasing their first new watch since the s3. Best decision I've ever made. While I cannot speak for the S3, I can say that the galaxy watch has made me forget about my Apple Watch already. Love the features, the build screams quality and durability and its more masculine in my opinion then the Apple Watch. I did not think I was going to like

the silver but I wanted the 46mm instead of the 42mm and I am glad I got it. Its stunning in person, pictures don't do it justice you must see it to truly appreciate it. The black band was nice but not my style, so I purchased an authentic samsung s3 band in orange/red that easily hooked up to my galaxy watch. Im very pleased with Samsung. I feel that ever since the whole "battery incident" with the note a few years ago, they really stepped it up and are providing a superior product to apple. Thanks samsung for the great watch.
L O V E ! And I've tried many many watches....
I absolutely love this Samsung Galaxy Watch. It paired seamlessly with my new Galaxy Note 9. Setup too no time. As soon as I turned the watch on, my phone lit up saying it detected a watch needing setup.
I have used many smart watches and fitness trackers. I currently have a FitBit Versa and Charge HR, and an Apple Watch Series 3 + Cellular. This Galaxy Watch takes the cake. It does everything the rest do, and then some. The model I have is not cellular, however within bluetooth range you can make calls and text through it. The battery life lasts DAYS, which is a MAJOR difference between this and my Apple Watch which was my old favorite. The Apple Watch lasts a day and a half at best, which becomes irritating having to charge so frequently.
Something else this does that the Apple Watch and FitBit do not, is a altimeter and barometer. This little touch is fun to play with, and could be especially useful when on a hike.
The Samsung Health app that pairs with the Galaxy Watch is one of the best fitness and health apps I've used. It aggregates all of the information into one easy to read location. It will show you your steps, your average heart rate, and your minutes active. If you wear it to sleep it will track your sleep patterns and break it down into sleep time and break it down into light sleep, deep sleep and time awake, which is extremely handy.
It also supports Samsung Pay, so you can leave your wallet in the car or at home and stop somewhere to pick up a snack/drink while out and about. I find this useful when I go on a jog, so I don't have to take anything extra with me.
I highly recommend this watch. It's stylish, and offers far more features than the competition!
Beautiful watch
I love this watch. It's beautiful as well. I've had all of the gear s watches and the galaxy watch is definitely worth the upgrade if you're looking for a more feminine piece. Yes, I miss MST but I have the note 8 and I can just use my phone. It's not a big deal. Bixby, when it works, is also a nice touch. The new exercise tools are also great.
Iterative Improvement that fixes everything
I have been on a constant search for the perfect wearable. I have had and used the Gear S2 & S3, several Wear OS watches, the apple watch series 2, the Garmin Fenix line and the fitbit Ionic. Every one of these was lacking in one way or another. The Galaxy Watch is the most complete, stylish and comfortable smartwatch I have had to date, and I am very impressed with the total package.
The stock photos don't do the watch justice. It looks very striking in person and I think looks better than most of my actual watches. The weight has been drastically reduced from the Gear S3 and I can definitely feel the difference. The result is a MUCH more comfortable watch that I can run, shower, swim and sleep in, while still remaining durable enough to take a beating. The craftsmanship is really top-notch.
The battery life has been marginally improved to the point that you won't have to worry about it for a few days. Heavy use for me has been about 30% per day, which is okay, but definitely not as good as my Garmin. The included wireless charger makes charging up painless, however, and it's moderately fast (100% in ~ 70 min.).
Fitness and sleep tracking features have clearly been a big focus for Samsung and their fitness app has become my preferred tracker for it's wide catalog of workouts and it's simplicity of readout. Finally, the inclusion of a spotify app that enables you to download your playlists for offline play puts this watch over the top with respect to other wearables. For me, this added functionality means I don't have to bring my phone along for a workout, nor do I have to connect my watch to a laptop and upload music manually. Huge win there.
Overall this watch has been a joy to use.
False advertising for battery Life.
My only complaint because I absolutely LOVEEE MY WATCH. Is that the battery life I thought is supposed to last up to 3 days but with a full charge I get a day with it. So not sure how they can say it lasts for 3 days. Not very happy about that. Maybe if you have it on watch only and disable everything else running I. The background as far as apps. You could possibly get the 3 days. Other than that it lasts for 1 Day!
Beautiful but still expensive for what it provides
As a smart watch I think it's good, battery life easy 2 days plus, esthetically beautiful but still not worth 300+ price for supplied features. Dial ring feels fragile but it's working flawlessly. It will need couple years for smart watches to evolve. One warning though, carefully inspect your watch if you're buying it from amazon warehouse. I had to return 2 of them because there was no Samsung pay preinstalled as it should be on US version and serial numbers didn't match (package box and actual watch inside). Third looks like lucky charm. We'll see how it will hold up in couple of weeks
All I need in a good looking watch
I switched from a Fitbit, partly because I wanted a watch that looked round, not square. Worked fine with my apple phone (though I switched to a galaxy phone a week later because I wanted to keep my audio jack). Of note, you can't do quick replies on apple. And only free watch faces on apple (though that still left at least hundreds to choose from). No connectivity or dropped connections noted with the apple for me.
I get 3 days with continuous heart rate monitoring and 24 hrs/day wear and always on display (display is an analog watch face with 7 variables consistently updated like steps, hr, and time). Though it depends on watch face - a previous face with same settings have me 2 days. It does take a good 2-3 hours to charge from under 5%.
I felt the watch was easy to use, and very much appreciate the rotating bezel. Being able to select items specifically without poking at small objects with my fingers is rather nice.
Watch bands are plentiful and easy to change (compared to traditional watches I've owned. Still are small pieces though). Personally don't like the plastic band that came with the watch, but the leather one and metal one I got are both very comfortable.
Bixbie works fine for me, though I dont really use any of the voice programs of any type to compare. And I have all the programs I care to on the watch (a clock, timer, weather, and health apps are all I use anyways).
I have not had a scratch on the watch yet, though I don't do too much manual labor to bang it up. And I have no wireless capability because I didn't want to pay for that extra when I have my phone with me all the time anyways.
I am very happy with my purchase.
