Reviews of Amazfit T-Rex Smartwatch, Military Standard Certified, Tough Body, GPS, 20-Day Battery Life, 1.3'' AMOLED Display, Water Resistant, 14-Sports Modes, Army Green

Great Price, Great Watch, Clunky App
I have been anticipating the release ever since it's introduction at CES. The watch itself is great. I normally wear Casio G-Shocks and this watch is just about the same size (maybe slightly smaller as you can see in the picture).

The Amafit App is not the best. It's not easy to navigate and just feels clunky. Maybe if they smooth the app and make it look cleaner, I'd be more excited about that side of it.

I'll have to edit this review after I use the watch a little longer. But so far so good.

Dinosaurs are still dominating
I honestly don’t ever due these reviews for a product but I was very skeptic with this watch I’ve owned multiple apple watches and love them don’t get me wrong but I work in the ac trade and was always worried on breaking the watch or scratching it. So I did some research to find a competitor that could match or exceed the apple products and what I found was a dinosaur that was not extinct and still wondering around waiting to be discovered this watch has simply blown me away from the easy to use interface to the rigid design holds charge better then any Apple Watch I’ve ever owned and just as quick one down fall I’ll be honest is no speaker or ability to exchange texts so that’s a bummer but other then that I’ve took showers with it and got it soaked rinsing coils on air conditioning systems and no issues the gps is amazing simply if you want a watch that’s budget friendly and something that even if it breaks won’t break the bank to replace it hands down best out there for value

Perfect watch if you are bored by Apple Watch
I ordered this because I was bored of my Apple Watch. Every update I hoped they would release more watch faces that looked like normal watches.

This watch has over 40,000 faces available and I’m loving it.

However, if you have an Apple Watch the big difference is:

* No speakers or microphone on this watch so you can’t answer texts by speaking or answer calls on it.

You need to weigh what’s important and decide if this Watch is for you. Personally the 20 day battery life (received Watch Friday and on Monday I’m at 78% after heavy usage and not charging it yet) and the look and feel of wearing a G Shock Watch is worth it for me. I can live with not answering calls or texts anyway so that was a non issue.

I'll definitely beat the 20 battery life
The amazfit trex is lightweight but so far durable. The size and feel are great as well, but out of any of the positives I can list, the top would be battery. I'm on day 17 without charging and my battery is at 63%. And it's not little to no use. I run different notifications through it, constantly checking time throughout the day, use it to track excersize and sports, have the all day heartbeat going which tracks sleep as well, and use it to control my music. Theres so much more and yet the battery is going strong. I attached a screenshot of the app showing the battery life and last charge. So I would say if you're on the fence, jump... and buy this watch

Great value! I really like it!
was looking at fitbits and a few other smartwatch brands. I wanted a tough, affordable, fitness centric device I didnt have to charge every single night. I'm honestly super happy with the T-REX it, its rugged, comfortable and had enough fitness and smart features to be nice but still maintains awesome battery life. The only thing missed is no mic so you cant take calls and no speaker, I would love if the alarm and notifications had a simple beep but this is no deal breaker for me. I have heard many people complain about the ui and while its not the applewatch it has been plenty responsive and is simple enough especially with the amazfit tools app (you can get some added functionality I think its 3 bucks or so).

Overall Im very happy with it for the cost.

Pros:
- Cost (you get mad bang for the buck)
- Screen is great
- Battery life is awesome (with notifications I get over 10 days easy)
- Fitness stuff is great
- Heart rate tracker is accurate
- Lots of third party faces
- Built like a tank
- Super comfy band, stretchy rubber
- You can sync with google fit (google fit syncs with most calorie tracking apps) so it integrates with most apps via the google fit integration.
- Zepp Phone app is great
- It was easy to setup.
- I like that I can tell what apps on my phone send notifications so I only get important notifications and its not buzzing non stop.
- Waterproof to 150 ft.

Cons:
- Notifications are not actionable they are purely informational (there are some 3rd party apps that allow for replys on text and extra features but its not out of the box).
- No mic so you can ignore or hang up on calls but you cant answer or do voice notes.
- No speaker (Bummer wish they would have added one)

Tough, sporty, minimal smart watch.
I love wearing time pieces as an accessory to my wardrobe and lifestyle. I wanted to get a smart watch that was both stylish, not too expensive, and sporty to replace my beat up $40 Casio Sport watch. I wanted to get something rugged yet stylish, I originally was going to buy a Nixon Regulus watch, but stumbling thru Amazon I found the AmazFit T-Rex on sale for the same price and decided to Do some research before buying it. This watch is a great first smart watch to get if you’re getting into sport smart watches. Yes there are more expensive watches like the Apple/ Android Watches with voice messaging, quick reply, NFC, and Garmin Watches with 3-axis GPS. Now for what the AmazFit T-Rex lacks in features, it makes up in durability, battery life, quality, minimalism, and affordability. I can wear my watch for more then a week and some days before I have the need to charge it. Depends on how much you use it. I never have power saving on, only auto brightness. Even still, it beats having to charge my watch every night like all the expensive watches. I definitely didn’t want to spend over $200 for a watch that would not meet my lifestyle. My lifestyle is pretty simple, I bike often, I play baseball/ sports sometimes, I take small hikes, and go out casually with friends. This watch has gotten some of the best video reviews on YouTube and on Amazon so it became a reason to buy the watch. I’ve seen video of this being frozen in ice, used swimming, dropped, and hit and it would still work! It’s tested to last. The watch leaves out the hastle of wasting time pulling out my IPhone 7 Plus all the time. I’m always pulling out my phone to check if I have messages. I’ve been wanting to stop the habit of being on my phone a lot, and so the watch actually helps me because I see the notifications on the watch and decide if Its important or not. I can also change music tracks rather than having to pull out my phone when biking, working out. Unfortunately you cannot track/record your activities and change music at the same time. Maybe there will be an update, but it’s not the worst thing. The watch allows me to track, monitor, and locate my activities with the preset functions. Interface is easy to use, and the buttons help navigate with easy, with little to no lag when using it, depending on your carrier, (mine sucks). I definitely recommend getting this watch as it’s dropping in price right now. If they release a new model, I will definitely be getting it because this product is worth it and Im liking the compliments and use out of the watch. I currently have the olive green version because my previous watch was black. The color is nice and tactical, but clean enough to wear if going out. For what I need, this watch is a perfect time piece. I don’t feel like I’m getting pulled out of where I am and being distracted by notifications on my watch, and I don’t have to worry if I abuse the watch.

5+ Stars - Exactly what I am looking for
I have to write this review because I was misled by a lot of negative reviews and waited for long time. I almost decided to buy the Fitbit verse 3, but wanted to give this band a try first.

I have owned two Samsung smartwatches, one Fitbit, and a new Apple watch 6 for wife, but I am looking for a simple, light, long battery life particularly with Alexa control function smart device. I finally made decision to try it. It took less than 5 minutes to setup EVERYTHING. The screen is beautiful, super crisp text. The Alexa function works perfectly even without the ability of speaker. I can read text message, and get phone call notification. It has a lot of basic health fitness tracker features that are very useful. I would give it 5+ stars.

Now, why I disagree with some of the negative reviews which is misleading.
** Simply the most important: set the right/realistic expectation for a $35 smart device that can do Alexa control
1. Not accurate: come on... is the xx steps difference really that important for you which will destroy your whole health tracking plan? If yes, go spend $400 to get an Apple watch. what's important is the trending: did you exercise consistently, do you have a surge or drop in the heart rate suddenly.
2. Buggy software: I set it up and forget about it. I am not really sure what buggy is about. Are you doing a stress testing for a $35 device?
3. if you are pulling out each feature and compare with a dedicated device or apple watch or Samsung watch, why don't you buy all those devices to make sure you are happy with everything?

Last comment/warning: the screen is small, the text may be too small for some users. For me, it is really trivial comparing with what I am expecting from this smart Alexa band.
