Reviews of Timex Ironman Classic 30 Full-Size Watch

A great watch at a great price.
I have known at least two other friends who love this watch as much as I do. I just purchased either my fourth or fifth one, as they last about 5 years before needing replacement. It is multi-functioned and I use most of the functions in the course of a day. A timer and stopwatch I use in the kitchen. The hourly chime is

helpful on days when I want to track the passage of time accurately. Frequently I use all 3 alarms.

Last watch died after getting wet following a battery replacement. It's easy to replace the battery (you need a jeweler's screw driver) but if it's going to be exposed to water submersion, screws on the back of the watch need to be double checked for tightness. (Before the battery replacement the watch was water tight and had no leakage problems.)

I was at a party once and met a woman who had the ladies version. It's identical, just smaller. She, too, raves about the watch. She's an athlete and uses many of the timing functions.

My only criticism of the watch was that on a couple of my older watches I had to replace them because the wrist strap broke from wear. That did not happen on my most recent watch after, even after 6 or 7 years.

In all, I only hope that Timex knows what a winner this watch is, and that they have no plans for ending its production; but at least I've got another 5 years of use before I need to worry about it.
