Reviews Fossil Men's Grant Stainless Steel Quartz Chronograph Watch

Perfect example of Fossil quality
A number of reviews have suggested that this is not an original fossil due to the screwed up Roman numeral 4. You can find this exact watch on Fossils website, wrong number 4 and all. I believe that is why the low price. Nice heft to the watch. Very clean classic lines, and an excellent overall look. It's a larger

framed watch, but not to the point of being overbearing. The only slight negative is how small the chronograph is. This wouldn't have been a problem five years ago, but now I am not going to be able to use it without some magnification. It would have been nice if the crystal included it. Very happy with this watch.

Value for price - Looks sharp!
I bought this for my 18 year old, as part of his high school graduation gift. He was looking for a "dress" watch and was checking many similar styles for $300+. He wanted a leather strap and something that had a more casual look, either to wear with a suit or jeans. This watch was perfect for him. It fits him perfectly, the color combination was not "formal", and it's the right size with regards to the width of strap and face. This is really his first watch. In the past, he was checking time on his phone. The fact that he choose this and was looking around, makes it a great buy for his lifestyle. He's had the watch 3 weeks now and still hasn't lost it or smashed the glass. For an 18 year old male athlete, that's impressive!

So clean and elegant
Really glad I made this purchase because I was tired of wearing my old watch that kept getting off track with time. This one is really elegant for the price. watch packaging. I attached photos of which pin you should remove to separate the links from the clasp link. You must remove this circles pin first in order to remove other links to get it to your comfort fit. Really easy adjusting process. I am satisfied so far with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good looking and affordable watch.

Actually surprised me!
This is honestly the best watch (at this price point) that I have ever come across. I’ll be completely honest I bought this watch intending on using the wrist band for another watch in my collection but after just a few moments of messing around with it I couldn’t bring myself to part it out. The movement in this watch is honestly pretty impressive especially for quartz. I definitely recommend if your into watch collecting give this thing a go. It’s makes a great casual wear that you don’t have to worry about being overly cautious with. Nice construction tight lugs and latch definitely not the rattle box that a lot of the others in this price range.

Much like in the age of early man
In this day and age ‘greatness’ is a term used too often and too frequently, to truly achieve greatness one must bring things back to first principles. Much like in the age of early man, the importance of measuring the passing of time, the arc of the sun and moon across the sky and the changing of seasons

has been core to surviving, thriving and dominating, and, in the F91-W we have the essence of the 200,000 year journey mankind has made. When man’s time on earth has passed, the F91-W will remain, keeping time in dutiful simplicity, abiding by its key tenets of dependability, timelessness and quartz precision. Other watches may come and go and, like the trappings of youth, you might be tempted to look to the glitz and shine of a gold Rolex. For this affliction I’d recommend the F-91WM-9ACF Casio Men's 'Classic' Quartz Metal and Resin Casual Watch, color: gold. Once the F91-W is on your wrist you will notice the subtle but definite shift of your stress levels, sort of like the soothing feeling of writing on a banana with a ball point pen. Who do I recommend the F91-W for? Well, simply the person who wishes to have a watch that tells the time, especially in dark environs that call for a subtly lit time check instead of the retina-frying, ‘distant explosion’ light flare of an iPhone screen. Imagine being able to time check the remaining run time of a big screen movie without lighting up the entire theatre? Imagine never having to worry about charging a device you carry with you every single day? Imagine being able to take that device with you even into the shower? Imagine that, even if you break it (which is difficult to do), you need not fear the cost of the loss, nor the time lost trying to navigate an appointment with the Apple Store to fix the ‘gorilla glass’ (which let’s face it should be re-named ‘delicate flamingo’ glass). Imagine that nobody will even notice you are wearing a watch or even consider mugging you for it and imagine that you can get all this for the princely sum of $10.35 (at time of writing). Well, imagine no more because, in the words of famed 2005 Sydney Swans Premiership Coach Paul Roos, “HERE IT IS!”.

Great PRACTICAL Utilitarian watch
EXCELLENT lightweight, low profile, WATERPROOF, utilitarian wrist watch.
I've had a F91w for a few years and It has never failed me, For $10, this watch is a great bang for your buck, I've worn this watch as a beater, swimming, sailing, fishing, showering, hiking, and many other activities you'd expect might damage or kill a watch. It has a great set of useful features like a stopwatch , and a very loud alarm. Loud enough to wake even a sound sleeper. The light is just enough to see the time and not blind you by being too bright. Battery life is GREAT at 7+ years. The F91w is also ultra-lightwieght and low profile. Very simple interface, and easy to operate functions. A basic utilitarian design. The price is very nice for a watch with these impressive features.
I sail a Hutchins Compac 16ft, year round and always keep a spare F91w in the tiny cabin. During the Cold months here in Long Island, NY on the great south bay, this watch is subjected to cold weather and icy rain. During the warmer spring and summer season , my F91 is submerged whenever we feel like going for a swim, or docking up on one of many small islands that scatter the bay. while claming or spearfishing the watch is sometimes 10 feet under salt water, sometimes my wrist is thrust into sand underwater while looking for clams. We spend a lot of time above and below the water, and I'm just impressed with the under rated water resistance rating of the watch. I dont hesitate to wear it showering after being in salt water for hours on end.
I keep a few spares, and have givin the as gifts to my friends, most of whom also had one, or a similar one as a kid. Pleasantly nostalgic, yet very practical and no- nonsense.
I would say this watch fits the definition of a basic, affordable utility tool watch. I am a watch guy, I also wear a 2006 Rolex Z series Submariner, my grail watch, which is excellent and superbly crafted, I love it too,its tough as nails! however it isn't as practical and useful on a daily basis, as my 10 dollar Casio F91w. I'm not saying the casio is better or tougher than my sub, but it's a functional time-keeping tool that can withstand plenty of rigors for an affordable price.

This one is very easy to read. Why i bought it is because big digits with seconds, date and day clearly readable with one look at watch. Back lite is great makes LCD digits clearly readable green. Second time function is one button hit. It has stop watch and timer, that can be set up to 24 hrs. It has 12 or 24 hr time display option.
$16?! Inexpensive for a great watch. very accurate over time, so this is not gonna make you late or early :) stop function accurate to 1/100s. It has alarm function too. No BS watch you don't have to worry about. silicon strap should be very durable. Remove the protective film so you an read the watch better (it's hard to notice its on there and not so easy to remove either. Haven't tested water proof, insignificant for me. Don't push buttons under water as you will break the seal. Washing hands etc no issue. I don't expect a $16 watch to be a diver watch...I got it as a work watch i don't worry about busting it...

Fantastic inexpensive watch.
I wanted an inexpensive men's "sport" watch for working out or chores where an expensive men's swiss watch is likely to get scratched, or otherwise marred. I have a medium wrist and so got the medium, which is good and still fairly large. I got the white face, black numbers. Looks terrific. Simple to operate, great (large) dial and numbers (easy to read), very bright illumination (!), good functionality (Stop, countdown, alarm, second time zone), which is all anyone reasonably needs assuming you don't want a heart monitor. Great looking, good materials, comfortable, good band. Fantastic for the money. I have not showered with it, and probably won't, so can't comment on water resistance (why tempt fate). Replaces a worn timex sport watch (this watch is a fraction of the cost and much better looking). Winner.

General Forward About My Timex Opinions: Let me begin by saying that I'm somewhat infatuated with Timex, yet a realist that's hopefully not biased. their reputation as a well built watch as I remember from my early childhood; I'm now 51 years old. As for my experience, though, I've had GREAT luck with the current Timex watches in my collection. I give 2 thumbs up to their current design team.

Specific Product Review: I'm somewhat driven to collect each and every watch in their Weekender 40mm, Weekender Chrono, and Fairfield lines. I admire the retro, minimalist flair that Timex has been pushing. It's a great watch for the price, too. The Timex Indiglo is fantastic, especially with the "40" shadow to celebrate the 40th anniversary of this watch style. As for the ticking sound... I love it!!! It tells me that it's a watch. It's louder than my other Weekenders, like the Fairfield. The 38mm face speaks class, simple and elegant. However, the 38mm is too small and looks too feminine on me. I changed the stock anniversary band immediately to see if a NATO would expand it's size a bit on my wrist... notice photos. As to accuracy, this Timex seems to be (+/- ) 1-2 seconds off per week. I like quartz movements for their accuracy. I only ask for Timex to bring back an American made watch that's constructed to be passed down to my children; I'll gladly pay extra for Timex to get back up to Seiko or Citizen reputation. I'd love to see all stainless steel and Sapphire Crystal glass. I think Timex has a great watch for the price. I'm behind these watches 100%. Go Timex!!!!!

Terrific value
I have now had this watch over 2 years. I have replaced the battery and the strap, which cost me more than the watch.

I love the watch - for the price, it is a triumph! It is unobtrusive-looking and although casual, blends okay with a suit. It just keeps on ticking! The Indiglo has worked flawlessly for me. You can read it in bed at night and the indiglo is strong enough to serve as a dim flashlight in a dark room. You have to change the "day of the month" by hand if the last month was 28 or 30 days -- it just rolls over after 31. But changing it is easy.

I see some people have had problems and I don't doubt it, considering the price tag. But mine has worked great. Oh, it has started losing a minute or so a month, since the first year, so I have to check it every few months, as I like the time to the minute. But I'm willing to put up with that for the peace of mind, as I have destroyed several more expensive watches. If this one stops or gets damaged, I can just throw it away without a second thought.

Ok,When I took it out of the box, I was surprised by very high-quality packaging, along with a very nice watch case. The user manual answered all of my questions (albeit, English was a little choppy), so this is a beautiful watch, very pleasing on the eyes, the thinnest watch I've ever owned. It tucks easily under my sleeve. No complaints about this watch. It is exactly what it seems to be. This thin, light weight, minimalist large face dress watch comes with a surprisingly high quality, The movement is very positive with no movement in the minutes hand when setting. The date numeral changes with a satisfying "click" and the set position is easy to find. All being said, I'm very happy with this purchase. It's a cheap, beautiful and stylish watch to complete an elegant attire, which is why I bought it for. It looks and feels like a very expensive watch, yet half the price of what I would normally pay for something of its quality,Recommended.

The best inexpensive watch you can spend your money on.
This is my 2nd watch. The part that holds the excess wrist strap down broke, but the band itself is fine. Unable to find another band, I just opted to buy a whole new watch for 16 bucks. My first watch was purchased in December of 2012. It is now December 2017, and it is still working with that same battery. I

have no idea how long the watch was running when I bought it, but I would say that 5 years out of the battery is normal.

This watch is great. It is light enough that I do not feel the need to take it off. It is water proof for the things I do...occasional swimming and I leave it on when I shower. I have hit this watch on numerous things like counters and it has taken a beating and the watch is without scratches and works just as good as the day I bought it. This watch can take a beating. I wish that it had a light, but that's my only thing that I would change. And this watch gets people's attention if that's your thing. I have never had so many people make comments about how cool it is, and I have some pretty nice watches. This thing has received at least 10 times more comments than all of my other watches combined. The nice thing is that I never have to worry about someone trying to steal it, as opposed to my other watches. I like the look. I like the price. I have nothing bad to say about this little watch. If you are like me and grew up in the 80's, always wanted one of these watches but did not get because they were so expensive back then, I highly recommend this. Especially if you travel to the Caribbean via cruise ship and need a good watch to go swimming with, but not want to draw too much attention to yourself and to make sure you get back to your ship in time.

It may not be the watch you need, but it's the watch you deserve
They say a watch is a symbolic representation of the kind of man you are. You could tell the world that you waste money on pointless extravagance, sure. You can just be one of the many shallow individuals out there trying to prove they're more important than they really are.

But while you're on your yacht, sipping $1,000 martinis, you'll have that existential crisis. Why do I exist? What purpose do I have? Will my deeds be forgotten by the sands of time? Is this watch defining me as a man of worth or just a shallow husk of an individual, a Great Gatsby, provoking revulsion instead of admiration? If you're wearing an expensive designer watch, you will never have answers to these questions.

If you have a Casio CA53 W-1 calculator watch, you have answers. When people see you wearing this watch, they'll think "there's a man who is timeless" and "that's a man who is both professional and clever." You will not ask if your life has meaning, or if the watch fills that empty hole in your soul. You'll be too busy solving other people's problems. If life is meaningless, and numbers are meaningless, then life is numbers, and your watch is life.

flat black case and an olive drab face. It needs to provide me with an easy to see date and the ability to easily stop and restart the time so I can synchronize my time with the mission. It needs to have a comfortable flat black nylon velcro closing band so that it will come away in an emergency but stay firmly fastened on the outside of my flame resistant flight gloves in a 100 knot wind when the doors of my helicopter are removed. It needs to have a guard to protect the crown from snagging on my flight equipment. Sure, I could buy a $300 dollar watch that could do all of that, or, I could buy this watch. Thanks Timex.

Great watch. Good price. Dependable.
I usually buy cheap watches, in the $5 range, from WalMart, and they fall apart. I'm a welder, and the sweat from wearing thick leather gloves and welding melts the cheap glue holding the straps together and they fall off. Decided to splurge a bit, bought one of these.

Haven't had any issue out of it. The illuminated watch hands are great and easy to see in the dark, and the light up face is clear. There is a small section at the bottom of the watch face that doesn't illuminate, but it's the size of the moon on my fingernail and so low that it doesn't affect my ability to read the watch. That's the reason for the 4 star rating of the built-in light.

The 4 star rating for water resistance is because I refuse to wear it while bathing or swimming, so I can't say I've tested it thoroughly enough to say with certainty that it's as water resistant as it is. Feel free to test it yourself if you want, I always take it off personally.

It's a 5 star rating for readability, easily. The only problem I have with the watch is that it requires being adjusted monthly to keep the number of days correct. If you don't correct it, at the beginning of the next month you'll be off by a day. It's caused a bit of confusion for me for the first month or two, but if you reset it once a month it's fine. I just wish that it didn't require any tinkering after setting it; I'd prefer something that I can slap on my wrist and only have to finagle it once a year to adjust for the loss of a minute or two, as is inevitable.

looks brand new even though I’ve worn it daily for almost 10 months, am regrettably at times clumsy and ding it often never mind that I wash my hands often. (Which is why I didn’t get a R0LEX, which btw it looks nearly identical to...I have been told almost every time “nice R0LEX” ??) (My Dad has the Rolex Submariner that cost $17,000.00 and its seriously nearly identical)
Hands down one of the best deals I’ve had on Amazon. EXCELLENT buy.

Great for the price
Very catchy styling, and great value for the price. Here are the key features:

* Operational chronograph
* Rotating bezel
* Quartz movement
* Includes date
* Ships with adjustment tool that saves you another ten bucks or so
* Really, really nice styling

When I saw the watch on Amazon, I had to do a double take to confirm that the price was really what it was. The styling is really, really good. From a distance, the watch gives the illusion that it costs several times as much. The watch ships with a nifty adjustment tool. Before this watch, I had never adjusted the links on a watch before. Despite that, I was able to resize the bracelet within 10 minutes. Kudos to the seller for including the adjustment tool. (Otherwise, just add 10 bucks or so to the price of any watch you buy that has an adjustable metal bracelet if you don't have an adjustment tool.) The downsides:

* Water resistance (or the lack thereof). Don't get the watch wet, don't take it into the shower, and definitely don't go for a swim while wearing it. Bad things can happen.

* The bracelet links are hollow, not solid metal. My experience with such links is that when the watch moves on your wrist the links, for lack of a better word, "jingle." I call such bracelets "musical bracelets." Not too loud, but definitely noticeable. So far, I've not had any issues with the links catching any hair on my forearm.

I've had the watch for less than a week, so I can't speak for the long-term reliability. Still, for the price.... it can't be beat.

Affordable Day-ate Watch that looks twice it's value
I got this watch to replace a self-winding Seiko day-date watch. Even though the Timex watch is relatively inexpensive, I still needed the watch to look good and show the day and date. Reading reviews, I was concerned that the flexible metal watch band might bee too small, but it turned out fine and I even had to

remove one of the skinny links. It also has a nice indigo light, which my Seiko does not have. As for battery life ... I have no idea.

Here's a couple more useful details. Since I weight only 165 pounds and the watch band had only one skinny link too many, the metal flex band is likely to be too small if you weight over 180 pounds. Timex sells similar watches with extra long metal bands and I would order them instead if you weight over 180 pounds. Also, contrary to some reviews, the stem is quite easy to pull out to adjust time and date, but you need to know how. The sides and top of the stem are buried in the watch case, so to pull out the stem you fingernail UNDER the stem, where there is a gap between the stem and the case.

Easiest to read watch I've ever owned.
I had been looking for a self-winding watch that would never need a battery or have to be wound manually when I spotted this one. The ad mentioned a 10-year battery and I thought I could live with that.

I really like the large easy-to-read dial with actual numbers instead of those pretentious roman numerals. Great contrast too.

My previous watch would gain about 5 minutes a week and that got pretty frustrating. I've had this watch for close to a week now and it's been holding within a second or two of my cell phone. I'm impressed!

The twist band was okay but felt a bit tight so I simply replaced it with my old fold-and-snap band.

The glow-in-the-dark dial doesn't, at least not very well. I wasn't looking for that functionality so I'm okay with it. (Update - I just discovered that the built-in glow dial DOES work. You simply have to push in the stem! I suppose that's the one thing that this watch lacks: Instructions.)

Can't speak to the water resistance yet but, since I'm pretty hard on watches, I often shower with my watch on to get the crud off and I'll know then if it's resistant enough for me. Reminds me of those old Timex ads: "Takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'!"

One small frustration is that there's no quick way to set the day of the week. As received, it was set to Monday and, to get it to Wednesday, I had to turn the hour hand through two days to get the weekday correct. Day of the month was easy and I liked that I could go up or down with the numbers.

I think I'm really going to like this watch, especially at the unbeatable price!

This watch is very light weight, easy to read, and comfortable to wear.
I mainly use this watch for work where we rely on having accurate time. I have been wearing this watch now for 2 weeks. What I like about the watch:
1: Watch face is large enough to be able to clearly read the time, date and day of the week.

  BUY NOW
Product Description Read More

2. Watch face is not so big that it is uncomfortable (roughly 1 5/8 inch wide by 1 3/4 long)
3. The combination nylon/leather strap is thin and flexible (but durable). The thickness is about 3/4 of an inch making it very comfortable to wear.
4. Indiglo feature is bright in the dark and very easy to find the button as it is on the face of the watch as opposed the side of the watch.
5. Setting are easy to navigate and easy to set time and date
6. Includes chronograph, timer and you can assign 3 different alarms.
7. Has the hour chime ( which you can disable).
8. You can set it to a 24 hour clock.

What I did not like:
1. The watch did not come with instructions on how to set the watch up and to navigate it. But as i stated earlier it is super easy to figure out. (to set your time just press and hold the set button while you are in time mode, hit the mode button, hit start/split button to adjust time, hit set to set the time)
2. Sometimes i have a difficult time getting the watch on and off, but i think that will get easier as the watch band breaks in.

In conclusion I would not hesitate to buy this watch. Again, it is super comfortable, light weight, easy to read and has been very durable so for. And at this price point how could you go wrong?

Basic Watch that does what it is supposed to do.
I am very pleased with this simple watch. I have many other fashionable watches that I wear for dress/work. I wanted something I could wear on weekends casually and for camping.
This watch may be all plastic but a benefit is that it doesn't move around a lot on my wrist and I didn't pay $100's for it. It has an easy to read face with large print for the time, day and date. The night light has a large and easy button to press.
Whereas the watch did not come with written instructions, the set up is easy and self explanatory for setting the time, date, day and alarms. I like the multiple alarms: not only to wake up but also to remind me to take meds and especially to leave the office so my wife doesn't beat me up for getting home late.
Time will tell how it holds up but for now, I'm pleased.

The Best Watch I Currently Own For Under $25
First of all, I would like to say that this the best watch I've had in this price range. It is very appealing and comes with all features you would expect from a sports watch. The build quality is very sturdy and not cheap in the slightest way.

Product Description Read More

The packaging the watch came arrived in good shape and was wrapped around the display stand. There were no instructions included but you can figure most of the functions by fiddling around with the watch for a couple minutes. The watch arrived much earlier then I expected, only took 3 days for the package to arrive in my mailbox after I ordered it. (I chose standard shipping, but it was most likely delivered so fast because I live close to the shipping carrier)

This watch has amazing functionality and the buttons are responsive to the touch. Sometimes it's a little too sensitive and I accidentally press it, but this is a very minor nit pick as it rarely happens to me. The features include a stop watch, date/days of the week, backlit display, and water resistance up to 330 ft.

The red color encompassed around the watch and buttons is very vivid and will definitely catch your attention when you glace over it. The wrist straps felt a little bit flimsy but that was most likely due to how ginormous this watch is! The size of this watch is massive and covers my entire wrist. I actually like that as I can easily see the numbers on the screen. I love wearing this watch while jogging as I can accurately tell the time. It also makes a great compliment for swimming as I regularly use it in the pool since it is water resistant. The style of the watch also gives it that cool sleek look that will look great when you wear it in public. If I didn't know any better, I would of that this was an expensive watch that would of cost at least $100. That's how you know a watch is of superior quality when it deceives you like that.

Even though this may be considered as a "cheap" watch, do not correlate that to an inferior knock-off product. This is one of the best bang for your buck sports watches you can get for the price and you will regret not buying this great watch!

TL;DR [Buy this watch, it is a fantastic sports watch that has style, functionality, and durability]

Actual brand. Better water resist. Less hassle batt change and setting. Good band. Year movement.
Armitron long has offered good quality in budget watches. Was skeptical about the plastic/resin band: Wearing it now, without issue--band seems not as bad as in the past . This Armitron's metal clasp proves an improvement. Fine fabrication.

This has the year setting, too--no need to adjust for leap-year. Still likely need to adjust for DST. The button settings differ somewhat compared to typical 4-button generic budget digital display PRC watches. Keep instructions.

330ft. Water resist. Backlight works well. Larger size. Easy batt change with back screws. Buttons less likely to "auto-press" on wrist. Indicates day of the week and day number by default. Easy to set. Military/12Hr.

The description says that the watch is a metal gray color on both the band and face. The band and face match very well. The watch is definitely real.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with the color and quality of the watch. The rose gold isn’t super pink, which I like. It is still definitely rose gold and I think it looks better with the gray than black would. It is a nice going out watch for formal occasions.

Minimal, Stylish, well rounded watch
Honestly, this watch is so nice. It's my style. It looks nice but it's not too eye catching. It just adds to your style. It's very slim and not bulky, something I really like. I got it on sale when it was $99 but even at it's current price its still a good option. No the picture does not represent it well. The face is more gray but I like it better. Personally, I don't think you can go wrong. If you want a minimal, stylish watch I'd for this one. Local jewelry store verified it's authenticity. I'd say go for it!

Perfect for a Growing Boy- Smaller face, tough, and a few other points.
My son loves this watch. We looked and looked and finally settled on this Timex Expedition Mid-Size- it was perfect for our 10 year old son. We went through a couple iterations of "kids" watches and they just didn't last. This watch has held up through swimming, basketball, baseball, and general rough housing

without a scratch.
- This is a good looking watch that is not too big on my son, or my wife who borrows it on occasion.
- Built like an "adult" watch vice the child watches we had tried in the past.
- Easy to read with a backlit face to make it easy at night.
- Intuitive settings- my son can set and change the alarms and the time zone on his own.
- The band is tough and soft- very comfortable with a Velcro strap that is easy to get on and off and to adjust.

Very happy with the purchase and my son really appreciates adult features and design in a "kid" sized watch.

Not surprised, Timex wins again!!
Summary: takes a little figuring out, simple YouTube video works ;). Does take some breaking in, but over time nylon straps become more and more comfy. But holy freaking CRUD CAKES I love the features and configuration.

I work with animals.... a smart watch is NOT going to cut it. However I need a watch with a stop watch (chronometer also works), several alarms, and timer for work (and myself too lol). This one has all of it!!! On top of that, no alarm EVER wakes me up... BUT THESE ONES DOOO!!! That won me over not gonna lie. If you're looking for a quiet watch... this is not it. The alarms beep and flash the indiglo... and the beeps are quite loud... (that's why it actually wakes me up) but all alarms and beeps can all be turned off entirely (no more beeping at every button!). Each alarm has a separate on-off feature (as well as weekday, weekend, or daily settings), and the 2 time clocks have separate systems as well. Meaning: you can have one time in a 12 hour configuration... and the second in a 24 configuration if you want to! Also if you hold the indiglo button until it beeps you can turn on a "night mode" feature where if any button is pressed the indiglo lights up (so you don't have to keep pressing the indiglo button every three seconds). The only thing I haven't personally tested is the waterproofing, but it's a Timex sport watch watch so I'm not afraid to say it will probably be good for light snorkeling. Also, personally I don't understand how to use the laps feature in the chronometer (I also don't know what it's for...) but I'm sure that's just a simple google search away. I'm not going to lie, this was my upgrade from the Timex marathon... and I normally wait a lot longer before reviewing... but I trust Timex sport watches so much that I'm 100% comfortable saying this is the best watch I've ever had!!!

Nice stylish watch
Excellent watch for the price. Opening package, delighted to see a beautiful yellow box. The watch was packed very well with excellent padding, and tissue paper covering the dial face. The watch is stylish, and the colors are vivid. I only made one change. I've received several compliments, and been asked where I got the band. It's a very nice timepiece. If you like it what you see, then go ahead and get one for yourself.

Exactly as pictured
For the $35 I paid for this item......it's actually quite impressive the value that they can offer you. Very sturdy build. The silicone strap is thick, yet silky soft to the touch. Hand set and printed dial, and hand set look a little cheap, but honestly that's just knit picking. What do you really want for this price point?? A lot of value here for the price. The actual weight of the time piece will surprise you. Not a bad thing. Just the type of weight you'd expect from a solid quality

This is the watch to get. I just returned the GD100 due to poor visibility of the digital numerals (although I really liked the way the piece looked overall). The slight drawback here with this DW6900 is that its

smaller in size but its far more visible in terms of the numbers on the screen. I was reading various reviews and options on all these different G' Shock models etc etc and what I realized is that ultimately I just needed a basic, visible, functioning digital watch and this is what this is. This is a nice looking watch to along with the classic casio rivetted band. The glow-light is perfect. One feature that is really sweet is that when you have the 'stop watch' going the regular time is still displayed right above it...
The alarm is standard. I recommend this watch to anybody that wants a tough, basic, reliable watch. This is the Toyota Tacoma of digital watches.

My favorite G-Shock
For me, this is the best G-Shock ever made, and I have owned many, including G-Shocks that cost several times as much money. The simplicity of operation and essential functions are what always brings me back to this watch. It is my go to for the gym or any activity where I worry about my mechanical piece. There is a reason this was trusted by navy seals and other military units for so long. If you are having a tough time deciding between this one and the DW9052 know that the strap on the 6900 is actually molded to the shape of a human wrist. Straps like the one on the DW9052 are just a straight strap, and will always feel either too tight or too loose.

I also prefer this watch to the solar versions because this watch continues to show the current time while in stopwatch mode. That is essential. The buttons on this one are also SO much easier to press than the 5600 ones, and it is very easy to find the light button at night. If I could only have one g-shock, it would be this.

The watch is really easy to wear
My first caveat is that I have not had this watch very long, but here are my observations: The watch is really easy to wear, it's not always banging into things, it is light and the display is easy to read. I have had several watches, watches with all kinds of features (altimeters) and such, high end aoutomatics, g-shocks,

and several others. And other than just for show, they don't do anything I actually use. I bought this watch to wear to work (I remodel homes) I didn't want to damage or scratch up my other high end watches. Guess what watch I wear more than all the others? This little Casio, if it is tough it will an amazing watch! So far the watch seems to be durable, I dropped a sheet of 1/2 inch cement board on it the other day with no damage. If you want a no nonsense watch for a great price then this is a great watch for anyone. The illumination is kinda cheesy,(light is green) but no different than my G-shocks. For less than 10 bucks you really can't go wrong.

Great value and a good buy.
PDATE: So another month has gone by. I am still training for the Sprint-Tri and run 2 or 3 times per week, swim 1 or 2 times per week, and cycle 1 or 2 times per week. The watch is still performing fine, is secure, the stop-watch feature is easy to use, and is still a 5-star rating for me.

OLD REVIEW: So far so good! Turned off all of my tracking apps and bought this watch instead. I am currently training for a Sprint Triathlon and find a watch with a stop-watch function to work just fine. I have used this watch for running, cycling and swimming already. The adjustable band makes a nice fit and it has remained securely in place for all of those exercise activities.

Easy to program...easy to see without my glasses (and I wear bifocals for reading).

now, I am very happy with it! it is Big, I like that, the listing has it at 40, but it is 45. I have a 7" wrist, and I love how it sits. you get a lot for the $$, 200M WR, screw down crown, and case back, uni-directional bezel. and a nice date window. the only thing I would say could be better is the strap.. it feels kind of like cheap plastic, but no big deal, Im going to get a Zulu for it. here is a pic of it next to my $400 Deep Blue, I think it holds up well against much more expensive watches.
EDIT: its been over a year, and its still working and looking as good as new! I end up beating the heck out of it and it has never let me down!
I have added some more pics of it on different straps, I like to change up the look. its a very versatile watch!

Low-cost but beautiful dive-inspired watch
If you're into dive and dive-inspired watches, you could spend anywhere from $100 to $1000 (or more). Or, if you just like the style but don't have a lot to spend -- but you still like a great-looking watch -- you can't possibly do better than this Casio quartz (battery-operated) diver that's reminiscent of all the famous expensive brands from Seiko on up. For $50 this is a serious watch with great cred. It's a legendary Casio, but besides this credential, it's also a beautiful stainless steel chunky and stylish sporty watch for everyday use. Look, this one has a serious black dial with a cool marlin logo on it that claims water resistency to 200M. I'm not planning to use it for diving (except in the sink maybe), but I wouldn't be surprised if it was rated that depth because it sports a screw-down crown. That's right -- the first requirement for a true diver is being able to keep the movement from taking on water. Second, it has a sharp unidirectional bezel that yes, unidirectionally rotates. Mind you, you might need some silicone to get it loosened up (it'll take your nails off the first couple times), but it clicks very nicely and everything. The face has a very visible date window at 3:00, arrow and spear white and silver hands plus a red and white-tipped spear second hand. No numbers on the face, only white circles and white rectangles (at 3, 6, and 9, though the 3 is shortened by the date) and a typical diver's double squared-off delta at the 12:00. The back is a screw-down, and even that feature is often reserved for more expensive watches. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the comfortable and classic Casio dive band, but it swaps out easily and I replaced it with one of my favorites, an ArtStyle ballistic nylon NATO strap in black. Honestly, this may be the best $50 (plus $11 band) watch buy I've ever made (a couple Timex Expedition chronographs come close, and they only had a pop-off back which I tend to dislike). Even if you're a watch snob, you have to admit this is a pretty watch for the money, and as a Casio it will work fine under any circumstances. I have one of the original Casio digitals from the 70s and that little guy still works. This Casio stacks up very well indeed next to some Seiko automatics and Seiko mods in my collection, and honestly looks better than an Invicta. So...now to decide whether a blue face should join this one!

My original entry into the g shock world was a DW5600e. I loved the OG look and toughness of it. of which Casio does not flaunt in their marketing materials. It’s like the veteran athlete that continues to perform year over year with little celebration and fanfare. This 5610 takes it to the next level. It is slightly smaller overall, screen is much more legible, and the resin band is ever so slightly better quality. Combined with solar and Multi Band 6, this is a true sleeper of a watch. Dollar store looks on the outside and state of the art tech on the inside. It’s as unassuming as it is legendary. 5 stars all day!!

Timeless legacy that will delight for many years to come
This G-SHOCK 5600/5610 is a great example of the few products that are built to last. It is as good as it had been when it’s precdecssor model was available some 30+ years ago. Kudos to Casio for sticking to its G-SHOCK philosophy in making watches that don’t break. This is one of the reason that I keep going back to Casio; they inspire consumer confidence and continuously excite with color design to suit customers taste.

This model GWM5610-1 has a visual appeal to me, it has a nice mix of color mix of red border, white casing text, purplish solar panel, blue and orange text. I like that the proportion of color is not too overwhelming and a backlight with a subtle greenish hue. Really cool ! It’s back cover and resin casing is solidly built in Thailand. This unit is solar powered with auto power-off when it is idling.

The minor bugbear was the watch came with a paper box, seriously it deserves a better packaging. Personally, I would have preferred to pay a little more for a decent metallic box.

While the GWM5610 may be small compared to my G-SHOCK Gravity Master GPW2000, it has its a big place in my heart. The G-SHOCK GWM5610 is truly a timeless design which tranverse the passage of time. I am a proud owner of this watch; to me, owning it is like owning a legacy piece. Cheers !

some time once the wearer has moved into a low light or no light area. It comes with a comfortable silicone watch band that can be changed. The one that I purchased has the White face with the bold numbering.

Great comfort, fit and easy read!
Very happy with this watch. Simple, classic and attractive. Really easy to read. Band is very soft and flexible and so comfortable that I forget I have it on. I like the larger face of a man's watch, but the bands are always too big. This is a nice compromise. I do have fairly thin wrists and have to use the last hole for a nice snug fit. A looser fit would cause watch to slide around as the larger face does give it some weight. Might not work for a very, very thin wrist. Like this watch. Has all of the features I was lookinh for

Beautiful, Durable Minimalist Watch
I got this watch 3 months ago and have worn it most every day since. The design is very good and minimalist. The numbers around the perimeter aren't very big so you don't notice them usually and it looks like a numberless face, which I prefer. The markings are very clear and the materials look very quality.

The leather band feels nice and smells really good when you first get it (smell wears off after a few days). It doesn't slip down your wrist like some other watches do. The crown feels nice but every now and then it will pop out on its own, pausing time. This usually happens when taking off a jacket. The markings sparkle on a sunny day if you move your wrist around. It's overall a very beautiful watch that I get complimented on regularly. The markings and hands are glow in the dark, but keep in mind this is limited: it only glows dimly for a minute or so before turning off. It's not a watch you can expect to use in the dark all the time. The face is very durable, it still doesn't have any scratches. The chrome around the face, however, has collected many minor scratches. It still looks good, though, especially if you're not inspecting it up close.

Best watch ever
An excelent watch for the price. The minimalist design is perfect for people who like this style. The wristbands are excellent quality and they are genuine leather. It is extremely light and thin, so you will not even notice you're wearing it. The quality of the design, the pinkish gold binding and the feel are absolutely stunning for the price, you could say they're more expensive watches only by looking at them.

The only two faults I can think of this watch are the quartz movement and the face plate size. The movement is smooth for a quartz watch but there are other options on the market at this price range that have mechanical movements. One can argue that this decision was done in order to avoid higher prices for the watch, which is totally understandable. If you don't care much about it, it will be no big deal. As for the face plate, it's something entirely subjective. In my personal case, my wrists are extremely small (I'm a fat-skinny latino guy) so the watch is prominent every time I am wearing it (44mm). Nevetheless I'm quite sure I will wear it this way.

It is a beautiful watch and it's sold out everywhere in the world! I really enjoy Fossil for their unique designs!
